Art.
Science.
Medicine.

Is medicine an art or a science? This question returns with surprising regularity. As clinicians, we follow guidelines, rely on evidence from prospective trials, and integrate emerging technologies into everyday practice—all with a single aim: improving patient outcomes.

But what happens at the edge of what is known?
What do we do when we arrive at the limits of evidence?

We search for answers.

Local recurrence of prostate, skin, head and neck, and lung cancers—together with the growing and complex landscape of oligometastatic disease, both synchronous and metachronous—has become one of today’s most dynamic and challenging areas in oncology. The clinical need is urgent, yet recommendations remain limited. Evidence is evolving, data are heterogeneous, and hands-on experience is still concentrated among a relatively small number of centres. For patients, new strategies offer meaningful hope; for clinicians, they can represent a step into unfamiliar territory. This makes open dialogue, shared experience, and collective learning essential.

Our conference provides a unique opportunity to hear leading European experts present their research, clinical insights, and practical approaches to managing local recurrences and oligometastatic disease across these tumour sites.

The event is organised under the patronage of the Polish Brachytherapy Society, the Silesian Branch of the Polish Radiation Research Society, and the Silesian Branch of the Polish Society of Oncology.
